Why Community Engagement Matters

« It’s a simple idea : a movement that encourages people to do good. »1

That is how GivingTuesday is best summed up. Since 2012, this international movement has inspired people from all walks of life to be the spark that initiates positive change around them. For Toujours ensemble, it was only natural to join this movement, which will take place on November 29.

Melissa Bellerose, Executive Director of Toujours ensemble, explains:

« At Toujours ensemble, we have the privilege of seeing, on a daily basis, the positive impact that an engaged community can have. Our volunteers, partners and donors help propel our actions on the ground. Their involvement has a positive ripple effect that ignites hope and opportunities for our youth. We take pride in seeing our young people grow into proactive citizens. Many return to us with a desire to give back. »

Among these former participants is Redi Nsanda, now a member of the organization’s board of directors. He tells us:

« I started coming to Toujours ensemble in 2006 when we had just arrived in Montreal […] Today, I am a CPA accountant and I am involved with Toujours ensemble, which has invested in me, by sitting on its board of directors! »

The team at Toujours ensemble encourages you to support a cause that is close to your heart on November 29.
