Making a Difference for Christmas

Registrations for the Toujours ensemble distribution of Holidays food baskets

Starting in November, the Toujours ensemble team don their elf hats to spread joy and holiday cheer as part of its annual food baskets campaign. This year, the goal is to reach 300 families in Verdun L’Île-des-Sœurs who are living in a situation of vulnerability.

“Today’s high cost of living especially impacts low-income families, many of whom live paycheque to paycheque,” says Melissa Bellerose, Executive Director of Toujours ensemble. “This initiative aims to provide some relief to Verdun families during the holiday season and bring our community together,” she adds.

A vital part of the holiday campaign is the dedication of the volunteers who devote their time and energy making this holiday season special for Verdun families. Indeed, some sixty (60) volunteers will lend a hand to this year’s effort. A typical basket contains food and grocery cards to feed a family for a week.

Registrations are open to all

While Toujours ensemble prioritizes families whose children are registered at the organization, the registration for the Holidays food baskets is open to all Verdun-IDS residents.

Registration will take place from November 14th to December 14th.

  • By phone: Monday through Wednesday from 10 AM to 12 PM, at 514-761-7867 #312.
  • In person: Monday through Wednesday from 1 PM to 3 PM PM, at 4926 Verdun Street.

Toujours ensemble’s annual holiday campaign would not be possible without the support of its generous community, which includes local business owners, volunteers, and long-time ambassadors of the cause, notably Mrs. Carolyn and Mr. Richard Renaud.
