The 2800 Verdun Cadet Corps on parade

Borough of Verdun – Cadets Timothé Brunet, Laurie Trudel and Victoria Blasco were on parade with their unit, the 2800 Verdun CC at the Adult Education Center, 1201 Argyle during their weekly training night on March 30, 2023.

The 2800 Verdun Cadet Corps has been established in Verdun for over 50 years. Every Thursday evening, from September to May, they participate in a training night. They receive training on a multitude of subjects enabling them to become exemplary citizens. Once a month there is a Commanding officer’s Parade where they receive promotions and rewards.

Cadets Chief Warrant Officer Laurie Trudel and Corporal Timothé Brunet were presented special sweatshirts due to their dedication and participation in the unit’s band. Master Corporal Victoria Blasco was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

The Cadet Program offers dynamic activities to teens aged 12 to 18 promoting good physical fitness in a safe environment. It is a youth organization, free of charge with the goal of developing good personal qualities of leadership and citizenship while promoting good physical fitness and team work.
